Petar Pilić and his wife Nada live in Novi Sad, Serbia, where Petar serves as one of the pastors of a local Church.  In addition to spending some of his time in Novi Sad, Petar also often visits believers in Southern Serbia and northern Kosova where his parents live. He felt a calling from God, to evangelize and share the gospel throughout the Balkans, sometimes even further, but mostly in churches all over Serbia. Specifically Southern Serbia and Northern Kosovo are virgin areas where there are few or no evangelical believers (of any denomination), and where there is significant hostility from both the Orthodox and Muslim elements.

God has also gifted his wife Nada, and their two children, so they can serve together as a blessing to churches, home groups, and families.  Together with Petar and his family, they make a great ministry team to promote and serve under the Lordship of Christ.  The mission of Petar’s ministry as an evangelist is to serve 25-30 other churches and home groups on a yearly basis in various cities and villages; and all over the Balkans. This is in addition to his work in Novi Sad, where he spends about half of his time.

Petar has been using, by God`s grace, soul care approach to preaching Gospel for years now. It is very efficient where public preaching is not possible, because of the hostility and resistance from people and traditional established religious majority. This is especially true in places that don`t have evangelical churches (or even believers); and there are a lot of them – particularly in the south of Serbia.

Due to hostility and resistance, it is not possible to have a service or to have a larger gathering at one place. For that reason, Petar goes as a missionary to individual families, travels and ministers to people on one-to-one basis. Often using these people’s hospitality, Peter preaches the Gospel during those visits and serves to the needs of those families.

Petar often ministers to the people that are having a very hard time, and because they have significant troubles they often can`t see a way out. He hopes to help those people, who often do not even see the meaning of life from their problems – to see how much they need God – and that the solution for their troubles is in Gospel of Lord Jesus Christ. Petar believes in God`s guidance and the Lord positions people, often complete strangers, in unique positions as God moves. As a result, people open up, telling him their problems and dreams.

When one works in a hostile spiritual environment, one must rely on the Lord. God often shows Petar where he needs to preach the Gospel, present the riches of Jesus love and how to pray for people around them.

Mothers in particular are seeking spiritual refuge and strength for a spiritual fight they must endure to save  their marriages and children. With every passing day people are more afraid, seriously worried about their life, family and circumstances. They often need the words of encouragement and words that bring peace. Considering we have no churches there, these people are often discouraged and alone, which is even more the case for those with serious health problems

Currently, Peter is the only clergy these people have access to. Please pray that that the Lord open the doors for the Word of Christ to penetrate this virgin land.

He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Matthew 9:37-38
